Insights to Energize Your Enterprise

As our hearts open and our love for life expands, the question often arises within us, “How might I use my strengths and passions in service to others or our environment?” Asking this question is as natural to an awakening heart as breathing is to human life.

As we evolve and mature, we feel a stir to step-up our game, be our best selves and contribute to the lives of others. When we attune to that inspiration and take action, it feels divine. And it’s true, we collectively create heaven on Earth when we line up with our natural gifts and offer them where they are wanted and needed. We come alive taking part in things that benefit our local communities as well as global ones. Genuine engagement of selfless service is the juice that energizes our enterprises.

"Enterprise” in this context refers to any functioning system that calls for boldness, ingenuity, and energy to thrive. For starters, your body is an enterprise that requires loving care in order to flourish. Sometimes we’re spread so thin, we forget to nourish it so that there is ample energy to fuel our intentions and actions. When we wholeheartedly contribute our creations and presence in service to the well-being of our cherished enterprises, everyone benefits. The giver and the receiver light up in equal measure under the influence of unconditional Love.

Though it’s not always apparent, people naturally hunger to feel energized in a way that is lasting. Aren’t we tired of chasing achievements that pump-up self-pride for a few hours before the happy fuel escapes through the punctures of daily stressors?

For many of us, the answer to that is a resounding, “Yes!” We are tired of walking on our tippy-toes, straining to find the next temporary boost that will inevitably disappear as readily as a cloud. We notice that even the "highs" from achievements are ineffective to neutralize triggered emotions such as when, let's say, someone aggressively cuts us off in traffic.

Of course, we’re wired for survival, so such events are likely to stir up reactions. Still, it’s interesting to notice that emotions don’t strike as hot when we’re deeply content in our skin. This degree of peace isn’t an achievement; it’s an inherent quality that lives within all of us. Such a statement could rouse one's inner skeptic. I get it. Stating that peace lives within all of us is a bold claim when there appears to be little evidence of that in our world.

The quality of inner peace appears to be missing because it is grossly covered by fear’s kissing cousins: anger, worry, impatience, disdain, and the like. However, just because peace (or any other quality of Love) isn’t expressed doesn’t mean it’s absent. Every quality—glossy to jagged—lives within us. The painful ones seem to arise without trying. The harmonious ones, however, appear to require conscious effort. This seems especially true considering the amount of stress we face in daily life. Naturally, it’s easier to access good-feeling qualities (like peace, joy and wise compassion) when we are in love with life—and not just when conditions are ideal.

I’m pointing to simply being in love with breathing, being amazed by the incredible geometry of a snowflake, appreciating the diversity of humanity’s expressions and being in awe of a watermelon that has grown from a seed smaller than one’s pinky toenail. The ongoing love for life’s simplest nuances is lasting unlike the fleeting gratification of conditions that inevitably come and go.

Deep appreciation for the subtle miracles all around is how we remain energized rather than drained when unpleasant conditions arise. Despite the rejection, the nasty-gram, or the bad news, life continues to unfold with grand intelligence. Cells reproduce, digestion happens, wounds heal, rain falls, gardens grow, and someone shows up for us, unexpectedly, when we need it most. How often do we notice and appreciate the understated, delicate wonders of life?

When fully present in this way, we access harmony that exists in every cell of our human enterprise that might have appeared to be missing. But it isn’t. Rather, it’s like a sleeping giant that gets woken up by us noticing life—by our genuine appreciation and awe. As harmony awakens, its characteristics influence the performance of a cell (and every cell for that matter) so that communities of them entrain to be highly functioning in their collaboration. What does that mean for us? Enhanced health, for one, and being vibrantly energized from the inside.

When we wholeheartedly appreciate life, we care about all of it—from critters to plants to people—along with the environment that directly impacts how we live. Our care invites presence, and our presence awakens the exquisite qualities that energize our cells, our dreams, creations, relationships, organizations, and actions of service. As communities of people light up, they collaborate as highly functioning enterprises within the magnificent enterprise we know as life on Earth. What happens in the small also happens in the all, and vice versa.

Perhaps one of the hottest questions of our time that energizes us from within is, “What is my purpose or calling?” It’s a beautiful, grand inquiry that is likely to strike each of us in different ways. While one might be looking for an answer to resolve career restlessness, someone else may want clarity with existential questions. Whether one’s intention is practical or esoteric, I’ve noticed a common theme—a desire to experience well-being in a way that includes appreciation, abundance, joy, creativity, and contribution.

Although money is not a central focus for this article, it is often so for people considering their calling. Many of us want to align with our sense of purpose daily, and we want to meet our financial responsibilities. Being able to do both is a win-win; so, hats off to all of you making a living, doing work that makes your heart sing. And a shout out to organizations that offer meaningful outlets (such as Corporate Social Responsibility Programs) to which employees may contribute if they wish.

The common short-hand inquiry is, “What is my purpose?” When we dig deeper, it's evident that people often contemplate many layers of meaning and questions such as, “How might I use my strengths and passions in service to others or our environment? Who am I and why am I here? Where am I playing safe? What have I been putting off? What has my gut been trying to tell me that I’ve ignored? How much is fear of the unknown hindering my process?”

We free ourselves to shift into another league of being—one that is both intimidating and exciting—by answering such questions with fierce honesty. To follow inner guidance and act upon one’s wholehearted passions is not necessarily easy; although it is rewarding. Attuned to your calling, you energize the enterprise of life for you and me and every version of we. Together, we consciously create our world from the qualities of Love that are awakening within us. These awakened qualities have a ripple effect—an outward movement that translates to sharing and service to others. When we do this, we widen the valve for vitality to flow with greater abundance, which energizes all aspects of life and inspires the same in others.

There is no question that we are at an evolutionary cross-roads for unprecedented expansion of consciousness. As we open to ways in which we can flow with this massive wave of transformation, we create the highest version of well-being in our individual human enterprises as well as our global one.

May we attune to the Infinite One we are in perfect unity, now and always.

Much Love ~ Korrine
